The Main Event is a book I designed for the final project of Ofek Shalom, an artist and graduate of the Photography Department at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design.
The design emphasizes rhythm, contrast, and space, allowing the photographs to convey both spectacle and intimacy. The project documents Israel’s drag community, moving from stage to backstage to private homes, revealing drag not only as performance but as identity, resistance, and hope.
The book was also featured on Madaf, an online platform showcasing contemporary art publications.
